Greetings Friends of Faith,
The Jews were facing genocide at the hand of Haman the hateful Persian. Mordecai, an officer in the King’s court who won favor with King Xerxes (also known as Ahasuerus) discovered Haman’s plot and urged his cousin, Queen Esther to speak up for her nation. The King did not know she was a Jew. Haman did not know she was a Jew. But God orchestrated her ascendency to the throne at just the right moment.
Mordecai’s plea to Queen Esther rings through the ages, “Think not with thyself that thou shalt escape in the king's house, more than all the Jews. For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father's house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” (Esther 4:13,14).
As we prayed about this year’s Anniversary our hearts were drawn to the immortal words of Mordecai to Queen Esther, “FOR SUCH A TIME AS THIS!” Just as God used Queen Esther to save His people from annihilation, God has raised up FAITH COMMUNITY CHURCH “FOR SUCH A TIME AS THIS, to “rescue the perishing, care for the dying…Tell them of Jesus the mighty to save!”
Everywhere we go people are restless and uneasy. The pandemic weighs heavily, news reports of pandemonium in our streets is troubling, and the impending election is perturbing.
We are witnessing a battle for the soul (and by extension—the souls) of America.
Waves of social unrest and political upheaval are nothing new. What is different this time around are the powerful rip tides of anti-Christian sentiment that have not only made it difficult to stand but are pulling millions away from the safety of the shore into the abyss of skepticism, cynicism, and hopelessness.
The gate-keepers of American civilization have turned their backs to God, the inspired Scriptures, and to Christ. The media and entertainment complex has devolved into a tangled web of deception and unbridled eroticism. Our educators have abandoned truth and the Truth and have drilled atheism, naturalistic evolution, and a humanistic post-modern world-view into the minds and hearts of their students. Our government seems hell-bent on criminalizing morality and defending immorality. Our friend Josh Bissey worries that in the end, “When morality is outlawed, only outlaws will have morals.”
And now, the one institution that God has ordained to be the conscience of the nation, the Church of Jesus Christ, has withered under government intimidation, yielded to the spirit of the age (trading spiritual for carnal weapons—fleshly music, pablum preaching, and discipline-free “discipleship”), and chosen pop-psychology over Spirit-given and Spirit-driven worship. It’s not surprising that our numbers are falling (some predicting that 1 in 5 churches will close in the next few years), our influence is fading, and that we are failing to win our children to the faith.
THAT’S WHY WE ARE CERTAIN THAT GOD HAS CALLED FCC TO THE KINGDOM “FOR SUCH A TIME AS THIS!”
God has ordained that our 24th Anniversary Celebration would align perfectly with ROSH HASHANA—THE FEAST OF TRUMPETS—The beginning of the Jewish New Year. This will be the 1,987th since our Lord’s Ascension.
It was the Prophet Joel who urged, “Blow the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the Lord cometh, for it is nigh at hand.” (Joel 2:1)
“Sounding the alarm” is urgent. The need for a moral awakening has never been more acute. The necessity for revival in the Church has never been more vital.

Last week we were fervently praying for the funds to purchase new Livestreaming Equipment when a faithful viewer texted that he would like to help us buy the cameras and equipment we need. GOD IS SO GOOD! We have ordered the equipment and may have it installed and running Saturday evening of our 24th Anniversary Revival. Thank you to all who give so sacrificially and generously.
